2010 February 16
by Tim V-B

This is my 100th published post (which isn’t much, really) but it’s a good number for an announcement like this.

Last week I was offered – and accepted – the post of Vicar of St Bartholomew, Wednesbury!

I will be Licensed on June 16th in a service at St Bartholomew which will start at 7.30pm.  To all three of my blog readers: you are most welcome to attend.

If you are interested in finding out a bit more about the parish and the church building, these links might help.

The parish made the newspapers last year:
Of course, the church is the people, not the building.  Those I’ve met so far have been very welcoming and I’m looking forward to June.  In the meantime the focus is here in Stone: following Jesus and helping others follow him also.

Hi Tim, people have been praying on and off for “the black church” and we are delighted to hear that you are the answer to these prayers. Let us know when you are aiming to arrive. Neil

Thanks to both of you! Tell the people who have been praying on and off to keep on praying, without any off 🙂

We’ll be arriving sometime in May (TBC), hoping to have a bit of holiday before our daughter can start school for the final 1/2 term of the year. Schooling is a good subject to pray about.

Congratulations to you both, Tim, and Caroline. We’re looking forward to seeing you established in your own parish. And a new area for us to explore!
Lots of love, Mum and Dad

As one of the congregation of St Bartholomew I just thought I’d say we are looking forward to your arrival with us and we pray for you and the family every sunday in church.

Thanks Leanne. When I was first ordained I found it a bit strange to be prayed for each week. Now I know how much I need it!
